Monday’s homework sits unfinished on the common room table, forgotten in the excitement for Saturday’s date to Hogsmeade, next to it lies the headlines that bring news of floral prints being in fashion and war fatalities steadily increasing. From the outside, Hogwarts’ walls seem like the ultimate protection. At least those who live there have the privilege of being safe. Except the quickly crumbling society and the spilt blood is only the half of it. Ideas are deadly things in the mind of some, and powerful weapons for others and ideas are seizing the minds of the students, forcing them onto different sides. They are called the generation of war. Despite what they may wish otherwise, it is present in every late night escapade, every cheer at a Quidditch match and all the foes and allies they have come to make over the years. They live it, breathe it, think it and face it in their futures - terrifying for some, exciting for others and uncertain for all.
